Deadline are a heavy metal band from South Africa formed in 2014 releasing their debut album ‘Black Wolf City’ in 2017, and sophomore album ‘Cathedral Point’ in 2020. And as the band gear up for the release of third album ‘Vitriol Inc’ (due May 2023), a new single has been released – ‘Monuments’…

…featuring a sound that is half thrash, half traditional metal. The pace is definitely “foot on the monitor”, with a head bang ability that is off the fucking scale! The band are in menacing mood, ‘Monuments’ a power driven metal onslaught of thrashy riffs, pulsating rhythms and screeching vocals.

The band, featuring lead singer Jessy Switchblade, guitarists Judge Mental and The Skullprit (the last original member along with Jessy), bass player Damian Dread, and drummer Wrighteous Mike, are hellbent on bringing the nostalgia, exuberance, and blood thirsty passion of the eighties to the present day, without necessarily pigeonholing themselves to just one style of metal.

So expect variety in abundance from the bands new album – with thrash and traditional metal the two strongest styles present. The month of May can’t come quick enough!

Overall, a thundering appetiser for the bands new album, ‘Monuments’ is a thrash infused heavy metal rampage.
