“Game Of Faces”

10/10

Dynazty are a hard rock/metal band from Sweden formed in 2008, releasing nine albums to date – ‘Bring The Thunder’ (2009), ‘Knock You Down’ (2011), ‘Sultans Of Sin’ (2012), ‘Renatus’ (2014), ‘Titanic Mass’ (2016), ‘Firesign’ (2018), ‘The Dark Delight’ (2020), ‘Final Advent’ (2022), and ‘Game Of Faces’…

…emerging in 2025 featuring a punchier, heavier hitting blend of rock and metal than ever before – probably the bands most “metal” album to date! In recent years, the band have solidified their position as one of the most prominent live acts around at the moment, touring with the likes of Battle Beast, Powerwolf and Sabaton – the Stockholm five piece going from strength to strength. Dynazty, comprising vocalist Nils Molin (Amaranthe, New Horizon), drummer Georg Harnsten Egg, guitarists Love Magnusson (Crowne) and Mike Laver, and bass player Jonathan Olsson – are on fucking fire, delivering eleven new songs across a blistering forty two minutes, ‘Game Of Faces’ storming into life with the rampant ‘Call Of The Night’, the band oozing the pop infused power metal sound of bands such as Beast In Black, the aforementioned Battle Beast and Metalite. The pace, power and purpose here is phenomenal, ‘Call Of The Night’ turning heads all around the world in the direction of the Stockholm outfit as the ground shudders beneath the bands feet! A simply sensational opening salvo to get the adrenaline pumping and blood flowing, Dynazty keep the hammer well and truly down with the title song ‘Game Of Faces’ – a heavier, brooding barrage of metal infused hard rock pouring outta the album.

The opening brace has been a double delight of energy driven metal edged hard rock harder methinks than anything the band has ever released – ‘Devilry Of Ecstasy’ maintaining the ground shuddering start to ‘Game Of Faces’ (the album). And even though the opening treble has been overly breathtaking, the bands immense melodious intent has shone through brightly every step of the way, the chorus breaks sing a long-able affairs that every listener, fan, follower and concert goer are gonna sing a long to with all their musical might! And bringing the full weight of mid tempo heavy/power metal to the fore, ‘Die To Survive’ is a foot stomping march with so much force I reckon Dynazty are about to stomp the planet out of its fucking orbit! The albums first four songs have (now) been breathtaking, the Swedish rockers, err metallers, are pedal to the metal and don’t look like lifting any time soon, ‘Fire To Fight’ entering the fray as the fastest song heard so far – the pop power metal style still very much in force! As I mentioned earlier, this is likely the most “metal” album the band has ever released, every metalhead around the world raising their heads in excited fervour at everything on offer so far!

I think barnstorming would be a disgrace to describe ‘Game Of Faces’ (the album) so far, sensational, stunning and fuck-me are much more appropriate, ‘Dark Angel’ maintaining the albums incredible intensity and momentum at full tilt – the band cruising along the motorvag at top speed! The pace and power here is off the charts, the infectious level higher than the sky, Dynazty delivering some of the best, no finest rock and metal music heard all year – the glorious mix of hard rock and heavy metal a fucking gorgeous one that’s gonna send every rocker and metaller around the world nuts! And I don’t mean “crazy” nuts – I mean “extremely excited” nuts, the band striding tall and very proud right through the hearts of both the hard rock and heavy metal genres as ‘Fortune Favors The Brave’ brings a much higher level of majesty and elegance than heard so far. Just what the Swedish band have been feeding on since their last album God only knows, the power, panache and prowess of ‘Game Of Faces’ (the album) is simply spectacular, Dynazty roaring into contention for the Album Of The Year award, ‘Sole Survivor’ the punchiest, heaviest hitting song heard up to this point, the band slamming every listener through the floor and into the fucking basement!

The “Mohs scale” is a scale developed in 1822 by German geologist and mineralogist Friedrich Mohs to measure the hardness of minerals such as rock, the scale ranging from one to ten, with ten measuring the hardest – diamonds receiving a score of ten to confirm them as the hardest rock on the planet! Until now…Dynazty the new hardest rock on the planet, ‘Phoenix’ accelerating outta the blocks faster than everything heard so far, the band maintaining their stance on the bridge between rock and metal territory – every single rock and metal fan coming together as one to celebrate the fabulous music on show! Fabulous music which ain’t over just yet, ‘Game Of Faces’ (the album) still has two more songs to come, the first of which ‘Dream Of Spring’, sees, or rather hears a more regal feel descend upon the album, Dynazty entering a melodic realm for this one with power balladry just a half-step behind! You can raise lighters high in the air here if you want to, but for me ‘Dawn Of Spring’ is too damn heavy to be classed as a ballad – the albums final hurrah ‘Mystery’ maintaining the albums overall pop power metal infused hard rock rampage, Dynazty proudly parading a magnificent rock and metal mix.

Overall, a breathtaking barrage of sensational, high energy metal edged hard rock with a power driven attitude and an immense infectious level.
