“UNDER THE KISS”
Single Review by Iron Mathew

8/10

Queenmaker are a hard rock band from Sweden, featuring the seductive Jennie Vaananen on vocals, and Rob Nasty handling all instruments. The bands debut ‘Under The Kiss’, was released in 2020.

Featuring a sound that encapsulates that of Vixen, Lita Ford, Romeo’s Daughter and Robin Beck – Queenmaker unleash a stunning mix of hard rock and soft rock…

…with the title song ‘Under The Kiss’, very much the hard rock offering. Punchy and crunchy hard rock with a catchy and sing a long able chorus, ‘Under The Kiss’ gives a nod and a wink to the late eighties/early nineties hard rock scene.

The second song on offer, is (obviously) the soft rocking ‘Hold On To Love’. The slower pace combined with the beefy rhythm is emphatic, too powerful to be a ballad and not mellow enough to raise lighters to.

Overall, a sparkling old school hard rock flavour, there is something very attractive here that makes Queenmaker an addictive listening experience.
