London death metal mob Collapse have just confirmed former InComa frontman Harry Watson as their new vocalist, following the departure of singer Duncan Wilkinson in 2013. Here’s what Harry had to say:

“I’m stoked to have been offered the opportunity to front Collapse. Craig Daws (Sacred Mother Tongue) encouraged me to go for the auditions and knowing the high standard other singers would be bringing to the table, I wasn’t sure I’d get the job. But since joining, things have been moving at such an awe inspiring speed and work is underway for the new album.”
Guitarist Andy Ongley adds “We were bowled over by all the standard of vocalists we had get in touch and took our time to try them all out, but there was no doubt in the end that Harry was the right guy for the job. Everything about him fits the band perfectly, his personality, his approach and work ethic but most of all that monstrous voice. We decided to re-record a track from Arms and the Covenant with Harry’s vocals to give away so everyone can hear how us sounding like Collapse on steroids!”
Collapse have unveiled a new recording of their track ‘The Cursed’ which they are offering as a free download on their bandcamp page here.

“I chose ‘The Cursed’ as the track for me to debut on because it’s brutally heavy and has some variety to it as well as some things I’ve never done before as a vocalist. The challenge it represented naturally appealed to me and I think I’ve put my own stamp on what was already a crushing track” says Harry.
Andy points out “As part of the audition process we also had some of the guys write for new Collapse material, and Harry knocked it out of the park there too. The new songs are shaping up to be a huge step forward for us, it’s the first time writing with Christian on guitar and he is bringing something very, very special to the table. Between these two guys, prepare for the new album to leave everything you’ve heard from us so far in the dust. It’s bigger, bolder, more groove, more melody, more everything. We can’t wait to share it with you.”
I can say with confidence that the new Collapse album will be disgustingly heavy!” states Harry.

The new frontman will make his live debut soon, with new dates being firmed up, Collapse have already been confirmed for ‘Out Of The Ashes’ and ‘Alt-Fest’ later this year.

The debut album by Collapse ‘Arms and the Covenant’ was released in 2013 via Transcend Records to critical acclaim by the media and public.
