From Vilseck in Bavaria, Germany, comes the five piece Atlantean Kodex, consisting of Markus Becker (vocals and choir), Manuel Trummer (rhythm guitar), Coralie Baier (lead guitar), Florian Kreuzer (bass guitar and choir) and Mario Meiß (battery).

Over the course of the twelve years since the band released their “Pnakotic Demos” demo E.P. in 2007, this is the band’s third full-length studio album following 2009’s “The Pnakotic Vinyls” E.P., 2010’s “The Golden Bough” and 2013’s “White Goddess”. The band have also released three live albums in their time as well.

The ten songs that make up “The Course Of Empire” run for just over an hour at 62:33. The music is big and epic with plenty of time changes. Manuel Trummer’s riffs are heavy with a thrashy bite to the guitar while Coralie Baier’s lead passages are clean and melodic and Markus Becker’s vocals are clean, soaring and melodic. The production is crisp and clear, and the musicians are all top notch performers.

I found this to be a very interesting listen & one that I shall be returning to.
