MOONSORROW

Moonsorrow are a finnish Pagan Metal act, from Helsinki Finland, signed with century Media records.

On April 1st, 2016 the band released its brand-new, seventh studio album “Jumalten Aika” – which means ‘The Age Of Gods’.

The band are very captivating and sinister like with a very deep sound.

With aggressive guitars, and thunderous drums they mix things up with their vast musical palette of keys, folk melodies which seem almost spiritual and black metal just to mix things up a bit.

Their Symphonic harmonies thrown around their music gives it that breakdown  which gives their music that atmosphere and takes you away from the darkness.

Their construction of melodies, blackness, symphonies and folk unravels like a storytellers tale, and the way they tear things up on stage with such determination; they draw you into their story almost like witchcraft.

KORPIKLAANI

Korpiklaani are a 6 piece finish folk metal band, signed with Nuclear blast.

Korpiklaani start the night with ‘Viinamäen mies’ which puts a bounce in the air, with ots of fast paced fiddles and lightning guitar, and gruelling bass and hearty accordion playing.

They continue through their set with songs such as ‘Lempo’ which starts off slow and heavy, with deep vocals from Jonne Jarvela, although this song has depth it still has a slight bounce to it.

The songs quicken up again with such songs as ‘Metsämies’ which makes you want to jig about the room in a drunken merry fashion.

Their infectious music leads you into another sense of reality as their music grips you.

Aggressive Accordion mixed with fast paced fiddle,  and good hearty bass and flavourful guitar gets you in the mood with their Viking style ditties.

Some songs have slowed down with a sombre feel not like classic tracks such as ‘vodka’ that make you want to get up a dance a drunken fuelled jig.

They still have that bounce, that gives the atmosphere in the venue that merry high feel, where you want to clash beer tankards and just have fun with your metal brethren.

Korpiklaani finish the night with al time classics ‘Beer Beer’, ‘Vodka’ and ‘Wooden Pints’.

A great end to a fantastic night.
