London metallers CUTLASS (ex PIRATES OF METAL) release single QUEST FOR TREASURE and announce new album WALK THE PLANK, live dates with RED RUM and TAILGUNNER

London heavy metallers CUTLASS launch their new single QUEST FOR TREASURE out today on all streaming platforms, and announce details of their forthcoming album release and tour. Their new name CUTLASS reflects the harder, sharper edge in their music, as they fuse their thrash influences to their classic metal roots. The band has been performing across the UK over the past 2 years under the name PIRATES OF METAL, promoting their CUTS FROM THE DEEP comeback EP and sharing the stage with scene leaders such as Fury, Toledo Steel and Tailgunner.  QUEST FOR TREASURE is the second single from the upcoming album WALK THE PLANK, which releases on 19th September in conjunction with their UK tour kickoff. QUEST FOR TREASURE opens with the twin guitar harmony of members SRDJAN BILIC and ALISTAIR HODGSON taking the listener on a melodic metal journey, before the gritty vocals of singer EWAN MACKAY tell a macabre tale of greed gone wrong. The soaring verse gives way to a thrash-inspired pre-chorus, before the harmonised guitar returns, all backed up by MILAN JEJINA’s percussive onslaught. In this way, CUTLASS takes the listener on a tour of their influences, from the classic heavy metal of IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST to the thrash of METALLICA with a dose of melodic madness reminiscent of power metal like HELLOWEEN or RUNNING WILD.
