Ozzy Osbourne has postponed dates on his upcoming UK tour due to illness.
The heavy metal star was due to kick off the UK and Ireland leg of his ‘No More Tours 2’ run in Dublin on Wednesday (January 30) but has had to push back the start of the tour after contracting the flu.
The tour will now begin in Glasgow on February 7. The affected shows in Dublin, Nottingham, Manchester, and Newcastle will be rescheduled, with details of the new dates to be announced.
Judas Priest, who are supporting Osbourne on the tour, confirmed the news on their Facebook page. “It is with great regret we have to announce that the first four UK shows on the Ozzy Osbourne/Judas Priest tour have been postponed due to Ozzy having a very bad case of flu,” they wrote.
“Therefore Dublin, Nottingham, Manchester, and Newcastle will be rescheduled at a later date – details to follow once finalised – we are very sorry that this has happened and to disappoint so many fans – we wish Ozzy well and look forward to the Glasgow, Birmingham and London shows together – and to the rescheduled ones in the future.”
Revised dates below
February 2019
7 – Glasgow, SSE Hydro
9 – Birmingham, Genting Arena
11 – London, The O2
Ozzy recently confirmed that, despite the name of his latest tour, he was still planning to tour in the future. He assured fans the dates weren’t part of a farewell tour, saying: “People have gotten that all wrong. The tour should have been the ‘Ozzy Osbourne Slowing Down Tour’.”
Last week (January 21), Ozzy announced the release of a unique piece of merchandise to mark 37 years since one of the most infamous moments in his career. In 1982, the star bit the head off of a bat during a gig in Des Moines, Iowa.
Now, fans are able to purchase an Ozzy Osbourne-branded plush toy bat that comes with a detachable head. A product description on Osbourne’s site read: “Bring the legendary moment in rock history to life with this soft toy Plush Bat, featuring the Ozzy Osbourne logo and a velcro detachable head.”
