Savage Messiah are a heavy metal band from the UK formed in 2007 releasing their debut album in 2009. Two more albums followed in 2012 and 2014, with the band gaining a huge following, playing shows across Europe with the likes of Amon Amarth, Trivium and Soulfly. 2017 will see the release of the bands fourth album ‘Hands Of Fate’.

Infectious and catchy with a sing a long style chorus, Savage Messiah’s new album explodes into life with the title song ‘Hands Of Fate’. Punchy and hard hitting, ‘Hands Of Fate’ is a bombastic start… a start that just gets better as ‘Wing And A Prayer’ increases the energy and tempo of the album. Heavy rock has never sounded so good, and neither have Savage Messiah. This, the bands fourth album, is the best offering to date, and in the shape of ‘Blood Red Road’, the band excite the senses with a full on “foot on the monitor” style romp. Buzzing guitars and a galloping rhythm echo everything that makes British heavy metal such a force around the world. Head bangingly addictive, clean and clear vocals and a sing a long-able chorus, ‘Hands Of Fate’ (the album) is off to a great start.

Meaner and moodier, the mid tempo, very heavy ‘Lay Down Your Arms’ foot stomps authoritatively across the airways. Savage Messiah inject a touch of the melodic hard rock into ‘Lay Down Your Arms’ too. Versatility and variety is on offer here in abundance, with ‘Solar Corona’ picking up the pace and rocking very hard on its way. The buzzing guitar sound of the NWOBHM is a prominent feature of ‘Solar Corona’ as it marches on. Injecting power and speed, ‘Eat Your Heart Out’ sets a blistering pace as it races on, delivering the catchiest chant style chorus on the album. Thumping hard, ‘Fearless’ is a melodic hard rock stomp. The clean and clear vocal style of the bands singer (and founding member) Dave Silver makes for easy listening and singing along. In fact, every song on the album is sing a long able and addictive…believe me when I say there will be plenty of smiling fans out there.

‘The Last Confession’ adds a touch of the American glam metal genre, placing a foot into the power ballad genre and offers a chance to raise lighters high in the air. That is until half way through when a dynamic change of pace propels ‘The Last Confession’ on at pace, with an aggression level more associated with the thrash metal genre. As ‘The Last Confession’ plays out, it does return to its earlier power ballad style. Great diversity from a band not afraid to expand the boundaries of their chosen genre of music. Keeping the thrash metal style alive, ‘The Crucible’ menacingly stomps on with an attitude that only Megadeth and their charismatic front man Dave Mustaine can deliver. Awesome stuff, and all from a British band too. The album is brought to a close with the guitar driven ‘Out Of Time’ chugging endlessly through riff after riff. A thunderous mid tempo stomp, ‘Out Of Time’ is a huge slice of heavy rock.

Overall, hard hitting and punchy, ‘Hands Of Fate’ is packed to the rafters with bombastic and infectious heavy rock that will please fans of the traditional heavy metal sound.
