Significant Point E.P. Review: “Attacker”

SIGNIFICANT POINT
“ATTACKER”
E.P. Review by Iron Mathew

10/10

Significant Point are a heavy metal band from Japan formed in 2011, releasing a self titled demo in 2012 and the three song demo ‘Attacker’ in 2014. The band followed these demos with a live release, recorded in Tokyo, in 2017. The bands first official studio release is the two song offering ‘Attacker’ E.P. released in 2018.

Hailing from the same country that gave the world their greatest ever heavy metal export, Loudness, now comes a new band, Significant Point, delivering the same fierce and ferocious brand of in your face heavy metal. Significant Point have already released a live album, and have now unleashed a two song E.P. of some of the best in your face, full of pace, NWOBHM influenced heavy metal you’ll ever hear.

First up is the title song ‘Attacker’, a blend of speed, power and traditional heavy metal. Rocketing along at high speed, ‘Attacker’ is a furious flurry of riffs and rhythms, with head banging of the violent nature the only suitable style…

…which goes double for the second song on offer, ‘Danger Zone’. Heavier than ‘Attacker’, ‘Danger Zone’ is more influenced by the legendary NWOBHM sound and is a thunderous rampage of savage guitars and galloping rhythms.

Overall, pace and power combined, all delivered at break neck speed, Significant Point will leave you breathless with this savage double shot.
