THUNDERMOTHER

9/10

Thundermother are a hard rock band from Sweden formed in 2009. The band have released five albums to date – ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Disaster’ (2014), ‘Road Fever’ (2015), ‘Thundermother’ (2018), ‘Heat Wave’ (2020), and ‘Black And Gold’ (2022).

Establishing themselves as a hard rock powerhouse, the band – formed by guitarist Filippa Nassil – have just undergone a radical line-up change. And for the second time in the bands career, out go every band member to once again leave Filippa on her own! Now I’m not here to discuss what happened (that’s an issue for the band to sort out), as I much prefer to talk about the music.

Assembling a new line-up – singer Linnea Vikstrom, drummer Joan Massing and bass player Majsan Lindberg – Filippa and Thundermother strike back with a thrilling new single ‘I Left My License In The Future’.

Showing the world they’re not finished, the band rock hard with ‘I Left My License In The Future’ – the bands customary barrage of bombastic hard rock still as devastating as ever! The new single is a hard driving anthem that’ll re-establish Thundermother as a force still to be reckoned with.

Comments the band “with this single, we would like to give the fans a hard hitting no-brainer track aimed at the one in the passenger seat without a driver’s license”. Amen to that!

With various awards and accolades received over the years, tours with WASP, Rose Tattoo and the Scorpions, along with performances at the legendary Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany, Thundermother have built a successful legacy – a legacy that’s gonna continue apace with an autumn/winter tour of Europe with Boston-based rockers Lansdowne as support.

Overall, a bombastic and energy driven anthem, ‘I Left My License In The Future’ is a red hot rocker.
