Time Rift are a heavy rock ‘n’ roll band from the USA formed in 2014 by the members of doom metal band Doomsower, after their disbanding in 2014. Time Rift released a demo in 2015, a five song E.P. in 2017, and their debut album in 2020.

Featuring an energetic and up tempo gallop, ‘Eternal Rock’ from American three piece Time Rift, is a blast of bombastic fury. Eight songs in less than forty minutes simply fly by – the energy and oomph a pulsating blend. The title song ‘Eternal Rock’ gets the album underway in fairly frantic fashion, the bands rock ‘n’ roll style rising high to the surface. Instantly likeable, ‘Eternal Rock’ has a rabble rousing call to arms kinda chorus – and I defy you all not to be chanting along well before the first chorus ends! ‘Fight For Your Love’ increases the intoxicability of the album, the pace galloping on, the rhythm infectious, and yet another chant along style chorus. This is turning into a sing a long album of the most addictive nature. Slowing the pace and introducing a little o’ the blues, ‘Hooks In You’ runs the gamut of sleaze rock – Time Rift seamlessly adjusting their style, yet losing nothing of the albums foot tapping ability. For foot tapping is involuntary, you’re gonna lose all control over yer feet…

Setting off fireworks, Time Rift set an explosive pace with ‘Magic Bullet’, the chopping guitar rhythm sharing more than a passing similarity to the sound of the iconic NWOBHM sound. ‘Magic Bullet’ is the first song that will appeal to both rock and metal fans. ‘Better Than Life’ opens with a riff that sounds like it was inspired by a classic AC/DC riff – I won’t tell you which one, I don’t wanna spoil the surprise. ‘Better Than Life’ is a swashbuckling rock ‘n’ roll romp, catchy and infectious, and yet another chant style chorus for everyone to sing a long too. In a live arena, the audience participation must be at an all time high. Awesome…

The bluesy Southern rock style makes an emphatic appearance, ‘Starcrossed’ bulging at the seams with groove. Raise your beers high, dance on tables, spit on the floor, and basically get your groove on and enjoy a thoroughly enigmatic song – all six minutes plus of it. ‘Fire In Her Eyes’ is the heaviest riffing song on offer, but by no means lands in the heavy metal genre. More like where Motley Crue placed themselves during the eighties, a hard rock/heavy metal crossover band, during a time when there really was only two genres – rock, and metal. A thoroughly enjoyable album is brought to a close with the rock ‘n’ roll swagger of ‘Another Name’. Hustling and bustling, ‘Another Name’ brings together all of the bands styles and influences, to produce what can only be described as the bands signature sound.

Overall, an infectious and thoroughly entertaining slice of heavy rock ‘n’ roll, ‘Eternal Rock’ is highly addictive.
