So I have no idea what this is doing on here. However, I will do my best to cover this dark, brooding, slow music that has come across my desk. If you are a metalhead and need to fall into a coma, then all tracks except one will surely do the trick. Now, I know if you’re a fan of this kind of music you will be yelling at the screen, but if you are here then I doubt that. Anyway I digress. In terms of the genre it is some seriously heavy and influential music with a narrative to carry the album to the end. The best track for my ears personally and the only one I really got into was A Gift.

The jazzy element made me think of a rain misted night in the city. Steam rolling off the street in small billows and sliding past your field of view. At 2:33 the tempo picks up and a heavy gain guitar groans in the background along with a trumpet from the sound of it. It ebbs and flows through the streets, at one point I hear what resembles a train and then the train going down the tracks as the heavy gain guitar comes back. It is too bad the rest of the album doesn’t sound like this. It’s as if a whole new band stepped in or they got possessed. It ends in a wail of guitar and goes into more slow music and narrative.

This album has its moments of clarity for me and, for you, could surely be relaxing. We all need a change of pace every now and again. Sometimes just to detox our minds as well as our bodies. The slow heavy vibe of this album seems driven by Massimo with his bass influencing a great deal of direction to my ears. David picks very well and with great precision from what I could tell, and Raphael sounds as though he has many toys within his reach. All in all, a good album. Just don’t expect anything near or on the same planet as metal other than great knowledge of their instruments.

On closing, I will say that my second play through has yielded some unexpected second thoughts. I really listened hard this second go around. I looked past the slowness and concentrated on the substance and I believe it merits more attention to fully understand what the message is here. I feel there is a whole album message somewhere in here starting with the title. So upon this newfound respect for their musicianship I will give it another chance to speak to me.
