THE GEMS
“P.S.Y.C.H.O”
Single Review by Iron Mathew
10/10
The Gems are a hard rock band from Sweden formed in 2023 by three ex-members of fellow Swedish rockers Thundermother – singer Guernica Mancini, drummer Emlee Johansson and guitarist/bassist Mona Lindgren.
The band have wasted no time in releasing new material, with an incredible three singles released this year already – ‘Like A Phoenix’, ‘Send Me To The Wolves’, and ‘P.S.Y.C.H.O’.
And with a full length album due out next year, the latest rock sensation to emerge from Sweden continue their meteoric and highly emphatic entrance into the worldwide hard rock music scene!
The new single ‘P.S.Y.C.H.O’, is a hard driving hard hitting anthem that’s gonna elevate the band to a higher recognition level than ever before. And while the bands former employers are still trying to resurrect themselves, The Gems are simply going from strength to strength.
The accompanying video for ‘P.S.Y.C.H.O’ sees the band having a ball, a laugh, and thoroughly enjoying themselves. And why not? They’re on the crest of wave, riding it tall and proud like a champion surfer!
In the shape of lead singer Guernica, the band boast one of the best hard rock singers in the world right now! And with the incredible Emlee and Mona alongside her, The Gems are carving out a fantastic future for themselves!
So remember to mark January 26th on your calendars as a reminder for when the bands debut album ‘Phoenix’ will be released – and on the evidence of the three singles to date, I reckon it’s gonna take the world by storm!
Overall, a hard driving, hard rocking romp of thoroughly enjoyable and infectious hard rock.
